Which pressure regulator connections exist for LPG cylinders in Europe?

31. March 2016/in Caravanning & Camping, Gas Regulator, Gas Cylinder & more, General, LPG Knowledge, LPG Leisure Time
Approximate reading time: 1 minute

The connections for pressure regulators on LPG cylinders are defined in European standards EN 16129 Appendix G and EN 15202.

On the GOK website and in the picture price lists for LPG systems and for LPG in leisure time, you will find drawings and technical information on the most common thread connections and their use in Europe.

Do you have a pressure regulator that fits on German 5 and 11-kilogram cylinders and want to use this when travelling through Europe? With the right adapters, you do not need a separate pressure regulator for every country.

Clips instead of screws

The clip-on connections do not have any threads. You can operate a pressure regulator with a German small cylinder connector (for 5 and 11-kilogram cylinders) with adapter on clip-on cylinders. There are many different sizes for clip-on adapters. GOK offers the two frequently used versions:

  • Version 21 millimetres (image below; for example used in Denmark, the UK and Ireland)
  • Version JUMBO 35 millimetres (used in Denmark, England, Finland, France, Portugal, etc.)
