What are the differences between red, silver and blue GOK pressure regulators for small-cylinder LPG systems?
Three users have something in common: Each one requires a pressure regulator, also referred to as a pressure reducer, for an LPG cylinder with a filling weight of 11 kilograms. However: User A wants to operate a gas stove indoors, user B wants to operate an outdoor heater outdoors and user C wants to operate a gas heating on a boat. How do the three now find the right pressure regulator?
Because LPG offers so many different applications, GOK also has a correspondingly large number of versions of pressure regulators in their range. Keeping an overview is sometimes not easy. Users can make a pre-selection on the basis of the colour of the fittings.

User A has a gas stove, which they do not use very frequently. That’s why they put a small gas cylinder in the kitchen and are looking for the right pressure regulator. The LPG system is indoors and therefore requires special precautions according to the regulations: a safety device against overpressure, a pressure gauge and a thermal cut-out device. User B is a passionate barbecue chef and wants to prevent the imminent temperature drop – and the premature end of the barbecue – with an outdoor heater. As the outdoor heater is only outdoors, the pressure regulator does not need a thermal cut-out device. B can use a similar model as user A for their gas stove, but in silver – a sign that the LPG system must be outdoors.

Blue pressure regulators for small cylinders (5 and 11 kilogram filling weight)
User C is an adventurer and sometimes spends weeks travelling on high seas – even in the colder seasons. When the temperatures drop, C likes to get comfortable below deck and put the heating on. They must make sure that they are using a pressure regulator that meets the specific requirements for the maritime sector. As the air can be extremely salty, the pressure regulator requires a coating which protects it from corrosion. All blue GOK pressure regulators meet the requirements and are suitable for use on boats and ships.
In addition, pressure regulators on boats and ships must be fitted either with a PRV, an OPSO or the over-pressure safety device S2SR and optionally with a pressure gauge or leak tester.
