After ten years, campers have to replace pressure regulation systems such as the MonoControl CS or DuoControl CS from Truma, among other things. The question then arises whether the camper can also replace them with comparable systems from other manufacturers – for example the Caramatic line from GOK. We’ll answer the question and show you the advantages of changing manufacturers.

No matter which technical system it is all about, one thing is usually the same: If you change the manufacturer of a component, this usually results in larger unit interventions in the system. Installation dimensions do not match or the connections are different. This can result in a time-consuming and cost-intensive conversion.
The following article only refers to the wall-mounted gas pressure regulation systems from GOK, in order to be able to operate the vehicle with LPG during the journey. The newly developed Caramatic SafeDrive also has an integrated crash sensor, but has a completely different system design.

No, on the contrary: if, according to DVGW worksheet G 607, the replacement of the gas pressure regulator is due after ten years, you can replace the Truma MonoControl CS or DuoControl CS one for one with the GOK Caramatic DriveOne or DriveTwo.
How does this work? It’s very simple: The current Caramatic line from GOK is identical to the original (up to year of manufacture 2018/2019), silver-coloured series of Truma Mono and DuoControl CS. Further information can be found here: https://gok.de/en/caramatic-series/
This means:If you would like to replace Mono or DuoControl CS from Truma with DriveOne or DriveTwo from GOK, this is possible without additional effort; installation dimensions and connections are identical. This one-to-one replacement without additional expense and at no additional costs is only available when changing to the GOK Caramatic line.
A conversion is also necessary if you want to switch from the original Truma series to the new black series of the Mono or DuoControl CS from Truma. This is a plus for the GOK Caramatic line if the regular replacement is due after ten years.
This is also worth knowing for users of a remote display or Eis-Ex regulator heating when changing to the Caramatic line:After replacing Mono or DuoControl CS from Truma to DriveOne or DriveTwo from GOK, simply reconnect the remote display or the Eis-Ex. Here, too, no cost-intensive conversion is necessary or the new purchase of these components.
To sum up briefly: If you have installed a pressure regulation system from Truma that is nearing the end of its 10-year period, you can replace it one to one with the equivalent from the Caramatic line from GOK. There are even a few advantages and we simply want to share this.
