What products does the GOK Caramatic line include?
All components between the gas cylinder and the gas equipment for a safe gas supply in motor caravans and caravans – this is what the Caramatic line offers all campers. However, this does not answer the initial question in detail, as there are some options. We’ll show you all of them here.
As already mentioned, GOK products are combined under the term “Caramatic” which is important for gas supply in motor caravans and caravans. While the system construction is always quite similar, there are various options when designing the systems, depending on the specific purpose.
***Update***
The following article only refers to the wall-mounted gas pressure regulation systems from GOK, in order to be able to operate the vehicle with LPG during the journey. The newly developed Caramatic SafeDrive also has an integrated crash sensor, but has a completely different system design.
Gas supply while driving
Arrival at the parking space: The drinks and purchased supplies in the fridge are at a good temperature, the rear of the leisure vehicle is well heated. This only works if campers are allowed to operate the gas system while driving, which is usually not permitted.
So: There is only a good warm living space right from the start if additional special safety devices ensure that the risk of uncontrolled escape of gas is minimised in an accident.
Double protection = cosy heat
In such cases, two safety devices provide protection. An excess flow device is integrated on the Caramatic ConnectDrive high pressure hose assembly. If the hose becomes disconnected or a larger leak occurs, this fitting closes the gas flow.
A crash sensor with pendulum is always installed in the control devices Caramatic DriveOne (for single-cylinder systems) or DriveTwo (for two-cylinder systems). It also blocks the gas flow, for example in the event of a collision. At a normal vehicle weight, an impact at a speed of 15 to 20 km/h is enough for the crash sensor to trigger.
Protection against dirt
The Caramatic ConnectClean gas filter rounds off the gas supply system while driving (see image). Unlike the two previous products, the filter is not necessary, but we do recommend it. Why?
In the past, contamination in the pipe system meant that control devices or gas equipment failed or no longer functioned fully. We want to save you from that.
Gas supply stationary
If you always keep the gas cylinder(s) closed while driving with motor caravans or caravans, you do not need any safety devices such as an excess flow device or crash sensor. In this case, a simple high pressure hose assembly that is connected directly to the gas cylinder is sufficient.
The other components you use depend primarily on whether you have a one or two-cylinder system on board.
Single-cylinder system
After the gas hose, we recommend installing the Caramatic ConnectClean gas filter. At the heart of the LPG system is a low pressure regulator with wall bracket, but without a changeover valve. This is only required if you operate a two-cylinder system.
Two-cylinder system I
Logically, not one but two high pressure hose assemblies are required for systems with two gas cylinders. We also recommend the Caramatic ConnectClean gas filter in the double version.
Then you can choose between a compact unit consisting of automatic changeover valve and integrated low pressure regulator with the Caramatic ProTwo. Or use the automatic changeover valve Caramatic SwitchTwo and a separate low pressure regulator with wall bracket.
Two-cylinder system II
The Caramatic BasicTwo two-cylinder system is a bit different, but the effect is the same. To each of the two gas cylinders, you install one regulator, connect it with a gas hose and connect a gas hose to the piping from one of the two regulators. You can find more information here:
You can use the Caramatic BasicTwo as a replacement for the no longer manufactured two-cylinder systems Truma Duomatic L and Truma Duomatic L Plus.
Conclusion
No matter how your current system is designed or whether you want to redesign a system from scratch, the Caramatic line offers all components for connecting a gas cylinder and gas equipment.
The Caramatic line is also suitable for replacing existing system components such as Truma MonoControl (CS) or DuoControl (CS) within the 10-year replacement period.
